Ashley M. Hunter is the Founding Partner of A. Hunter & Company, a family office with global investments across insurance, technology, and luxury markets. She co-leads the firm’s portfolio strategy, overseeing ventures such as AFO Partners, an international insurance brokerage, and BLI, an AI-driven platform delivering real-time investment strategies for the luxury sector.
Since 2015, Ashley has been a lecturer at the University of Texas at Austin’s School of Information, where she teaches on risk, innovation, and financial systems. Previously, she served as Managing Director of HM Risk Group LLC, advising startups and corporations on alternative risk transfer and global reinsurance placement. Under her leadership, HM Risk Group became an industry pioneer in niche insurance products for the sharing economy and assistive reproductive technologies.
A recognized thought leader in insurance and reinsurance, Ashley is a frequent speaker at major industry events including PLUS, NetDiligence, Digital Insurance Summit, Women in Insurance Summit, and NAAIA. Ashley serves on the boards of several nonprofits and public companies, including Panmure House and Brightstar Lottery PLC (NYSE: BRSL; formerly traded as International Game Technology PLC, NYSE: IGT). Her expertise and work have been featured in The New York Times, Entrepreneur Magazine, and other leading publications.
